Bumps in the Road

There was a bump in on my road yesterday...I broke my toe(s)...I know no biggie right? WRONG! They don't really do much for broken toes and I can't walk without extreme pain. It is quite hard to run, when you can't even walk, in fact impossible. I had fully intended to start the couch to 5K program today, and now it has to wait, I am majorly upset!

I felt like this when it happened, only imagine a hurt foot not a hurt finger and I look a little different, but you get the point.

Why does it always seem when you get on the right track, everything gets in your way? I was doing good with my eating and exercising, and now I can't do much in the way of exercising. I am trying to keep my head up but it is hard :(

Also in the news, both of my girls got stung on the bottom of their feet last night by bees, within seconds of each other, yesterday could not have gotten much worse. Oh and did I mention, I fell at 9 am and hurt my foot, my husband did not get home until 4 PM. Extremely hard caring for 3 kids 4 and under when you can barely walk :/ Especially when 2 of them are screaming from bee stings...

On a side note: DO NOT stand on a rolling office chair to hang up a blanket so you can block the sun, it does NOT end well...

This post was a complaint post, hopefully you still like me, I can only hope

Question of the Day: How do you handle bumps in the road?

In more happy news, did you enter my Pampered Chef Giveaway? Head on over and do it now, you won't regret it ;)

I'm so sorry to hear about your foot :( And your kids' feet :( And the day you had :(

When I hit bumps in the road like that, I just remember that I know we are not given any challenge in this life (no matter how seemingly hard they may be), that we can't handle. I remember that we are here to learn and to get better, and we couldn't experience all the great joys of life if we didn't know about the sorrow & bumps (no matter how much they suck sometimes!)

Looking forward to reading more from you :)

  4. Oh that stinks girl! Hang in there!! Can you focus on upper body for a bit? Maybe find some exercises that don't involve foot impact (maybe exercises for people who are wheelchair bound?). In helping my dad lose weight (over 90lbs now!), I've learned that food choices are SO important when exercising isn't an option. Cut to around 1500 calories (good, quality calories so you dont feel deprived) and you'll still lose weight. Maybe not as fast as you'd like, but it WILL come off! We used "6 Weeks To A Healthier You" by The Biggest Loser. He lost his first 50lb through calorie restriction -- he was too sick to exercise. Also, eat avocado at least once a day (1/4 to 1/2). I swear it helps with weight loss. Wishing you the best!!!
