That's Cray

Sometimes the most random things happen to me and per the norm this weekend was no different.
We took a family mall trip because of course Gap was an extra 40% off, you know I was there. When we got home from the mall, all of our neighbors were in the parking lot (we live in a 4-plex), there was also a car I didn't recognize and 2 people were unloading wood and pallets out of their car. My first thought was "why are these people unloading stuff here? I have never even seen them."

My hubby being the "manager" of sorts hopped out of the car to see what happened, truth be told he hobbled over, he hurt his foot and moving fast has been a challenge. Apparently these people had pulled up and started loading their car up with the property owners things and one of my neighbors got the other neighbor to see if he knew them. Well nobody knew them, they just "saw" the stuff from the street and came into our parking lot and started loading up. They said "we thought it was free junk" and then the guy actually asked "well where can I even get firewood?"  In all of his embarrassing glory he said "Come on let's go, there's plenty of free junk in the world!" You know how people act when they feel incredibly stupid because of their actions, it was that type of thing. Yes please you should go...

Here are my problems with this scenario
1- The street that our house is on is more of a highway, so you would have had to stop and look over the fence and around the cars to see any of the firewood and pallets.

2- It was in our parking lot behind cars, not on the curb and there was no signs indicating it was free.

3- You can buy firewood at the store

4-In this Pinterest era, you know she just had some wood pallet project she wanted to do, so she convinced her boyfriend to come and get these pallets.

5- WHO does that??

In other (completely unrelated) news, are you a wild or a calm sleeper? I would say I can be pretty wild, I wake up tangled in blankets and often pushing my husband off the bed, but I'm not violent. When I was pregnant with my first born I slept all the time, no joke I would come home from work eat something and fall asleep, like for the night at around 6:30 PM. After a few weeks of this, my husband just started leaving me home and hanging out with friends, seeing movies, going to dinner, he gained an active social life while I slept away and cooked a baby. I would always be in bed sound asleep when he got home, and I am a hard sleeper, so he didn't wake me up when he got home.

One night I was awakened by an elbow to the face, I sprung up thinking "WTH, did someone break in? Am I being assaulted?!" But the only person I saw was Milton (my hubs), "Milton-a, why did you do that?!" his response "I had a dream" then he was back to sleep and quite frankly so was I. The next morning of course the first thing I asked was, "why did you elbow me in the face last night?" He had a dream that he was being attacked by dogs and as they were jumping up he was elbowing them down to get them off of him. He apologized profusely of course, and felt really bad, I honestly was cracking up and now we often refer to the time I was a dog. WOOF!

Missions and Bi-SOONS

Quick background here. I am a Mormon. Have I ever mentioned this? In our church the young men (18) and the young women (19) go on 2 year proselyting missions. Basically they knock on doors and teach the Gospel. If you have questions please feel free to ask.
{via}

My husband went to Rapid City South Dakota on his mission, as you may know they as famous for things like Black Hills Gold, Corn and...Bison.

Well here's a story  that's so embarrassing I still turn red (I have a few of these...)

My love and I had our first date just shy of 2 months before he left, so a few weeks before he left I went to the library and got a butt load of books on SD, because I was 16 and thought this was cool I guess. So he came over one night and I proudly got all the books so we could read them with my little brother and sisters, I was really trying to show him I cared, awe.

I started reading a book all about the strong Bison except I said it Ba-Soon...now this book was pretty long and I said Ba-Soon around 276 times and he never corrected me. When I finished reading the book he said "Um, you actually pronounce it  By-Son" my response "oh thanks" and this brown girl red...

1- I could NOT believe I had embarrassed myself like this especially when I had "researched" SD so thoroughly in order to be an expert.
2- I could NOT believe he never once stopped me.
3- I love him and I can NOT believe this happened over 10 years ago.

Question of the Day: Do you have a super embarrassing moment you wish you could erase?

We Jamba-d! {Review}

This post was sponsored by Moms Meet and Jamba Juice.

This summer has been a difficult fun interesting one so far, some days are easy breezy and others I find myself asking "when does school start up again?" My girlies either play wonderfully together or fight, there is not a happy medium, and as much as I would like to stay home and do laundry and cook and play, they want to be anywhere but home. I have been trying to take them to as many free and cheap activities as we can just to keep them entertained. Last week we were out and they started in on the "we're hungry" and the "I can't wait until we get home". Now I despise feeding my kids fast food (don't get me wrong I do it, but I am really trying not to) so when I saw Jamba Juice I remembered my gift card and I was ecstatic!
We tried the new fruit and veggie smoothies and I am glad we did, did you know...

Only 8 percent of Americans achieve their recommended target for fruit in an average day.
• Only 6 percent of individuals meet their recommended target for vegetables in an average day.
• 1 percent adults and 2 percent kids meet both the fruit and veggie recommendations each day.
*State of the Plate: 2010 Study on America’s Consumption of Fruits and Vegetables

I am lucky that my kids love many fruits and veggies, but if your kids don't take them to Jamba Juice and try one of the new kids smoothies, I am sure they will love it!

I ordered the Tropical Harveset smoothie for myself and the Jamba Kids Berry Beet it for my girls. They LOVED it! I thought the beet flavor was going to be too strong for them, but they sucked it down. I think the trick is that they use the veggies juiced, and they don't blend them up there on the spot. The color was a beautiful red color, which was great because all my girls asked for was a red smoothie so that went over perfectly. I loved my Tropical Harvest smoothie, it just tasted like fruit, which I love because it tastes good and it's good for you.

If you know anything about me, you know that I LOVE a deal and the Jamba Juice value days are amazing!

How to Get Your Post Link Before You Hit "Publish"

Have you ever been co-hosting a link-up and they ask you for your post link, and you haven't published it yet? Has it left you scratching your head? Well I have the solution.
If you are like me sometimes you get a blogger boost and you schedule out 5 posts at a time, if you're also like me you don't want to log back on everyday to tweet about your posts or put them on Facebook, so you probably schedule them using Hoot Suite or something of that nature. Here is how you can get the links for your posts as soon as you create a title.

Here is a picture tutorial and the written out instructions are below.

1- On the right sidebar you will see a section titled "Post settings"
2- Click on "Permalink" and click "Done" your post link will be there, you can copy the link and use it
to schedule tweets or send to sponsors, anything you may need to do.

If you want a custom link keep reading
1- Go to "Post settings"
2- Click on "Permalink"
3- Click on "Custom permalink"
4- Type in your wording. Whatever you want your link to say. This is a great place to utilize SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
5- Click "Done" your new custom link will be there for you to copy and use wherever you may need it.

Question of the Day: Did you know you could get your link on Blogger before you published the post?

Christisansted- {Trip recap part 3}

Make sure you check out parts 1 and 2 of the trip recap.

Our hotel was in Christiansted so we decided to check out the town one evening when we had a few moments before my nieces softball game. Christiansted is the former capital of the Danish West Indies and the buildings have a lot of African influence because they were built by African slaves. Now that the history lesson is over lets get to the pictures.
Christiansted (like many places on the island) has tons of colorful buildings, pink, yellow, orange and mint were just a few of the colors that we saw on buildings around town and I LOVE it!

There were also chickens everywhere just cruisin' the streets.

Posing like a model, per the norm with this little one.

This hotel is located on it's own 5 acre cay (key) and they have their own beach and is only accessible by boat, maybe next time I can ride over and check it out.

Funny story in this next picture all my children were screaming in terror about being on the ledge of the gazebo, I am sure you can tell by the pained look on their faces. Blog pictures don't always go as planned...

Christiansted was an awesome place to tour and visit. We can on a Saturday around 6 PM so most of the shops were closing and they weren't offering many tours. Next year I hope to catch Christiansted in prime time and learn more about it's history.

Share the Love- How I Save $$$$$

I have mentioned multiple times how much I love to save money. I work hard for my monies and I like to keep them close by, unless Target is calling my name...

I use the Ibotta app to save money on items I am already buying. You get cash back for buying certain items, which is super sweet! Right now when you sign up for Ibotta and redeem 5 offers within 2 weeks you get an extra $10, that's on top of the cash back for the items you purchased.
When you log in and go to "offers" you will see pages like this

I am going to purchase the Clear shampoo so I click on it and get to this screen

I click on all 3 of these circles and "earn" a certain amount of money for each one. This is what the "Learn a Fact" looks like, so after I hit the red button I have earned myself $0.25

It's really easy to use and you can go here to sign up today.

Another money saving tool I use all the time is Swagbucks. You can earn Swagbucks by doing internet searches, shopping online, playing games and much much more. The best part is you can buy $5 Amazon gift cards when you hit 450 Swagbucks. You can easily earn multiple cards per month, I do this and save them for Christmas time. You can go here to sign up. Fridays are also Mega Swagbucks days, so you have a higher chance of winning more Swagbucks on Friday. Trust me you want to sign up for this one!

Last but certainly not least is Amazon Prime. I LOVE Amazon Prime  because you get FREE 2 day shipping and even better click the link above and try it free for 30 days! When I finished my free trial they offered me a full year for just $39! Considering online shopping shipping is usually around $8 paying just $39 for an entire year, or FREE for 30 days is an awesome deal!
