1- I would have to say that one of my all time favorite movies is Napoleon Dynamite. Please tell me you have seen this movie? It is hilarious! I have family in those super tiny towns in Idaho and let's just say I have seen a pair (or two) of moon boots in my day...One day I will do a whole post dedicated to this genius movie, I know you can't wait!

2- I LOVE the movie Finding Nemo. I will never forget the day I saw it, we had tickets to a free preview and the whole family was there all 10 of us. My mom went into a little gift shop and saw the preview tickets on the counter, and of course each one admits 2, so she asked the lady how many she could take because she had 8 kids. The lady replied, "technically 1, but I'm going to be in the back for a minute, and I can't really stop you from taking more" *wink wink* So my mom grabbed 5 and we all got to see it! I love this movie, the animation and colors are amazing.

3- For the third and final pick I would have to say Lilo and Stitch my hubby and I saw this movie on our first date, and I LOVED it ever since then! Funny thing about this movie is that it is the first movie they all watched and actually sat through the entire thing. Needless to say it's special and we all love it.

For 3 Things Thursday this weeks topic is...
3 of your Favorite Quotes
Movie quotes, celebrity quotes, any words you find inspiring.

1- This line from Tommy Boy, in fact just about any line from this movie cracks me up!!! Not too inspiring but at least it was a good laugh!

2- This is so very true and really goes along with my post about sippin' haterade, don't do it!
{via}

3- Yet another great one. Don't compare yourself to other people, you truly have NO idea what they are going through. Especially as bloggers, people think everything is revealed and it really isn't never judge others based on what they choose to show you.

Your Beauty Questions Answered

Come link up tomorrow for Three Things Thursday tomorrows topic is 3 of your favorite quotes!

Today I have a special treat beauty questions answered by a beauty expert, I know you will love it!
Meet Sequoia Leopold

Sequoia is an entrepreneur, which is awesome, go ladies who are small business owners! She owns Flawless Beauty Bar which is currently open in Washington and will soon be expanding across the West Coast.

Here is a little background about Sequoia:

"Born on a commune in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri, Sequoia was raised and named by my hippie parents, so naturally she grew up to love all things having to do with artificial beauty.  She later married a republican capitalist to complete the rebellion.  Sequoia moved to Seattle after college and quickly became a member of the Seahawks Cheerleading Squad, teaching her all the fabulous tricks of looking your very best.  She finally found her true home in the beauty industry; opening Flawless Beauty Bars in 2007, specializing in sunless tanning and airbrush make-up.  Earning a reputation in the industry for high standards and beautiful work, her advise on beauty tips and trends is highly respected. Flawless Beauty Bars is her passion but it comes second to her true love, Beta (i.e. the cutest Pomeranian)!    Animals are a huge part of Sequoia’s life and her chosen philanthropy."

Hello amazing! Seqouia has answered some of my beauty questions today and I am here to share the expert's answers

How do you cover up dark under eye circles?  “I actually prefer to brighten and highlight the inner corner of my eyes and the top of my cheek bones instead of cover the dark circles.  But, when I do use  product, I use MAC Select cover-up and add a little MAC Strobe Cream mixed in to make sure that it looks dewey and fresh.  I like to apply with a brush but using your fingers warms the product and can help it go on smooth without the cakey look.

Where should I really be putting on bronzer?  “Along the hairline of  the forehead and then across the cheeks and a little on along the chin.  Think a 3 on one side of the face and an E on the other side.  Anywhere the sun would naturally tan you, however it must be used with a very light touch. Bronzer is different then contouring and should  give a 'sun kissed' look not a 'tan' look.”

Is foundation for everyone?Or only if you have spots to cover up?  "I don’t think it depends on the person, I think it depends on the occasion and situation.  Television, photos, and high definition foundation is for everyone, even the young with perfect skin.  Red carpet events yes probably...dates maybe just a BB cream...daily office looks maybe a tinted moisturizer or mineral makeup.”

What is the best mascara for length?  “I actually like the mascara that makes the little tubes...it kind of coats the lashes.  I have lash extensions so I don’t wear a lot of mascara.”

What eye makeup colors work best for highlighting green eyes?  “Plums or purples usually bring out green eyes...however telling people to  wear purple eye shadow can be scary for them and for the outcome.  So I usually say plum tones and then contoured with eggplant or rich browns that will keep the purples muted.  Remember all of these colors should be matte! Shimmer only belongs on the lid.”

FAVORITE PRODUCTS

What is one item you can’t live without? “I can’t live without my Kari Gran Lip Balm!”

What is your favorite thing in your beauty bag? “My favorite thing is my MAC Concealer for sure!”

What do you use everyday? “I use my Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and MAC Strobe Cream every day without fail!”

Lashes, daily glue on’s or extensions? “Extensions for sure! I get my extensions done at Wink Lash Extensions in Bellevue off Main St.  I don’t know what brand they use, but I like them because my eyes look polished and striking even without makeup…I’m so vain I want to look pretty even when I workout or go on my runs…so this is perfect for that;) Plus being blond, I don’t  have dramatic features…everything kind of blends together…brows, lashes, lip color.  This gives me a little extra something.”

What beauty items do you use on a special occasion? “ I only use my Airbrush Foundation on special occasions.”

What are you longing to add to your cosmetic bag? “A travel size blush and brush.”

Do you have any tips for saving money on your favorite products without sacrificing quality? “Buy things in Tubes and then when you are almost out, cut it in half and use a q-tip to remove the excess product. Cover the exposed ends with Grab and Seal Glad Wrap and it will last you another full week or more.”

What is your favorite splurge? “Good brushes are my favorite splurge in my beauty bag! They really make a difference when applying cosmetics.
Do you have anything in your beauty bag you've used since you were 16?
Sequoia:  I don’t have a specific product I have used since then, but scented hand cream for sure is an absolute must. I use it constantly and I love smelly lotions!”

BACK TO BASICS!
Favorite Concealer?  “MAC Select cover-up.”
Favorite Mascara?  “Lash Blast waterproof mascara, by L’Oreal.”
Favorite Blush?  “MAC in Dainty.”
Favorite Chapstick? “Burts Bee or Kari Gran Lip Balm or MAC Lip Conditioner. I keep one of these everywhere, accessible at all times.”

You can find Seqouia on Facebook, Twitter or her website (Flawless Beauty Bars). Do you have a beauty question? Ask her, she loves answering fan questions!

I personally can't wait for a Flawless Beauty Bar to be open in Portland. If you live by the Washington Flawless Beauty Bar go check her out!

The Facts of Me

There have been a lot of giveaways going on around these parts, so to all the followers that stuck around, and all my readers I just wanted to introduce the facts of Myranda

Me and my girls at the mustache b-day party

1- I hate raisins. If we are ever to be friends never offer them to me, not in cookies, cakes, breads, nothing I will not eat them and I will not be your buddy. If someone really said to me "raisins or death!!" it would be a tough choice.

2- I LOVE a good deal. I love using coupons and saving money, sometimes it sucks the life out of you, but really when you have 85 tubes of toothpaste who cares? Kidding, I only have like 17 right now calm down!

3- I love hip-hop music and I can spit some mad lyrics to prove it. I recently found the Back Dat Azz Up radio station on Pandora (from the recommendation of the ever fabulous Whitney) and it is a wonderful high school flashback.

4- I, often, inappropriately use commas, if, you, don't like, it, I don't have much to say really. This is my space if I want to put 12.2 commas in every sentence I just may do it, but you have, been, warned.

5- I don't have a fancy DSLR camera, but I really want one.

6- I recently got a smart phone, after having a dumb phone for over 2 years and all I can say is...

7- I love giveaways, until 6 months ago I had no clue blog giveaways existed and now I'm like
I have won an iPad Mini, a $250 Visa gift card, a $100 Sephora gift card, ad space on 18 different blogs and tons of other things, needless to say if you enter them you will WIN!

8- I am struggling with 10 facts..

9- I LOVE shoes, more specifically heels. I have about 12 pairs of heels and I wish I had 1200. Just take a look at my Pinterest "Shoes" Board to see all the cute shoes I have pinned, and I wish I had them all.

10- I love to cook, seriously I am considering a culinary career.

Now tell me some facts about you, leave a comment and I will come check out your blog, if it's not already one of my faves!

Peace out girl scouts!

Top 5 Downfalls of Being a Couponer

So as you know I LOVE to save money and I LOVE coupons!! That sentence deserves about 50 more exclamation points, but I don't want to yell at y'all. Did that only feel awkward for me, I don't think I will use "y'all" again.
Back to the post, today I have decided to share the downside of being a couponer so I bring to you

You find yourself in Target trolling the end-caps (where the clearance usually hides) and you see it, there on the shelf an item at 70% off, such a good deal, but wait it could be better! You know there is a coupon somewhere, but you don't have your coupon binder. What do you do, purchase it at 70% off? Wait and bring back the coupon? Full scale anxiety attack in Target over a $1.58 bottle of shampoo, it's   rough.

You will never be able to pay full price again once you start couponing. $8.99 for a pack of diapers pfffft, no way I only pay $5 or less. Then the moment comes when your diaper stockpile has completely dwindled, you thought you had more under the crib but the stock is depleted and you just put the last diaper on the baby. Once again anxiety attack over being forced to pay full price for diapers.

Everyone, their mom and their granny will come to you for the best deals, extra coupons and lotion anytime they need it. Also be prepared for the post-coupon anger that comes when you didn't let them know something was on sale and they bought it full-price. You will hear this a LOT, "why didn't you tell me you had a coupon?!"
"I'm sorry mom, I didn't know you were going to Target last Wednesday for shampoo..."
Total joke mom ;)

I mean when someone pays you to take items out of the store why not right? That is what my crazy-couponer self would have said, now I have relaxed a bit and tried to realized that if you won't use it, why buy it? Because this time 2 years ago I had roughly 1200 bottle of Beano in my cupboards and I never used the stuff. I really didn't have that many calm down folks, but I had too many for sure.

They may take away your binder, simply so you can shop without a full scale operation simply to save a few dollars. Seriously though it may drain you a bit, because gathering, sorting, clipping and organizing all those coupons can get old real quick.

I really LOVE coupons and saving money, but a couple years ago I was a bit of a crazy person. I know saving a few dollars is literally a necessity for a lot of people, so that's not a joke, but if you find yourself a little coupon crazy you may want to reevaluate.

Question of the Day: What do YOU think of couponing/couponers?
